Minutes

FC welcomed everybody to the meeting.

Guest Speaker

Unfortunately, our guest speaker, Anouska Adamson-Parks, Director of Strategy at Surrey & Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust did not arrive. This was due to a mis-understanding about diary entries. However, we had a fairly poor attendance as shown above so it was probably a better use of her time not to appear with such a small audience. (Update - Anouska has agreed to provide a presentation at a future meeting. This may either be in person or as a recorded video which could be played a number of times. Please let LAR know which medium that you would prefer. The advantage of a recorded presentation is that it could be played a number of times at different locations and for separate surgeries but question responses may be difficult)

Finance Report

LAR presented the annual statement of finances noting that the current balance stands at £317.65. FC passed a cheque to LAR for £30 representing proceeds of fundraising by Jo Smith so our bank balance will shortly be £347.65. Members voted to accept the annual statement of finances.

Practice News

Rachel updated the meeting on the news from the surgery as follows:-

Staff Changes:-

Two qualified GPs have recently joined the practice in order to complete their required GP training – Drs Bell and Makhdumi. Two of our resident Greystone GPs are now on maternity leave – Dr Ghafoor and Dr Chen. Dr Sherrington, who now works at Moat House and Dr R Patel are currently covering some of this leave and two of the existing GP Registrars, Drs Sakhthibalan and Gaballe will be continuing to work at the surgery for 1 year to cover this leave once they officially finish their placements in August.

Two new receptionists have recently started at the practice – Samantha and Danielle – welcome to Greystone!

The feasibility study of The House Partnership (Greystone and Moat House Surgeries) merging with the Caterham Valley Medical Practice is underway with a conclusion expected in the autumn. Caterham Valley patients have been asked for their views in a recent newsletter as have The House Partnership patients.

The merger of patient records at Greystone and Moat House surgeries has been completed successfully with some small teething problems and only a minor issue where Moat House patients have to reselect the practice as their nominated GP on the NHS app. The practice is aware of this ongoing issue and working with the admin team to get everyone back on the NHS app as soon as possible. Instructions on how to re-link have been sent to patients via text message and are on the Moat House website.

Health Champions

There were no Health Champions members attending so Rachel provided a brief update on activities as follows:-

· Weekly walks continue each Wednesday morning with refreshments afterwards at the surgery. These have now been taking place for over a year which is a fantastic achievement.

· Digital Buddy sessions are ongoing whereby patients are guided in how to use the NHS app to full advantage. Greystone health champions are considering branching out to the Moat House waiting room to help re-link patients to the app.

· First Aid - A ‘Parent & Baby’ course has been held and this was well attended. Future courses to be offered in the autumn.

Voting for Chairman and Secretary/Treasurer Roles for Year 2024/25

Both FC and LAR resigned from office and held themselves open for election for the year 2024/25. Both were voted back into office from a show of hands. FC advised that this would be the last year that he wished to act as Chairman and candidates may wish to put themselves forward at the next AGM in May 2025.

Any Other Business

FC highlighted the meagre member attendance at this AGM and TS raised the thorny issue of increasing our member size as we are hardly viable at present. Any suggestions please to FC or LAR.

Date of Next Meeting

Date to be agreed – probably September
